I checked our local Toys'R'Us recently. They were selling ST's for $399 alright, JUST ST's, i.e., the cpu/keyboard. You have to get the monitor and diskdrive separate. However, the combined price comes out to $959, which is less than the standard $999 (which I paid). Also, they are only selling (at least here in Austin) 520 ST's, single sided drives, color screens, and VERY little software. On the same subject, there's a software store that started carrying the ST here in Austin, at the standard prices. But during a computer fair here, they had a show special. Instead of the usual $799 for a monochrome system with one single sided disk, they had 'em for $599! What a deal! Buy one of them, then buy a color monitor separate, and for less than the price of a color system, you get a 520 with both monitors. So, if you keep on the lookout, I bet you can find some great deals. Maurice T.
