I can send messages to Arpanet, but I am not In general, many ARPA-bboard moderators will send archived files on request to sites that cannot FTP. I doubt that the current group (not one) of net-friends that keep INFO-MAC humming are doing so at the moment, as they may not have the extra time and energy. But anyone on ARPA could stand up and volunteer for that duty, so maybe we should have a request for a volunteer (name your "bribes"), best residing at a site that has some/most/all of the archives available locally. However, let me recommend a procedure that is a lot more efficient and effective, regarding everyone's time and resources: Join a Users Group, locally or remote and get their PD-disks. Boston, NY, Washington, Berkeley, etc. (Austin??) procide that service (worldwide, I believe), and produce excellent disk-collections and newsletters. Also, make an effort to locate a local BBS and you might be surprised what you may find. If there is none locally, you can try long-distance, of course, but why not rather find a few local folks with similar interests and needs and start a BBS? BTW, here in Austin, we have several BBSes which rival this net in message traffic (some say in quality, also). Try the following during *CHEAP* phone rate hours (don't ask me when that is!!): MegaPhone BBS: (512)331-1662 and Bull Creek BBS: (512)343-1612 tell the SYSOP I invited you for a look-see. can you say 50 MegaBytes online ??!!
