I am sharing my experiences with you in hopes that others may benefit. Among the suggestions I received were a couple that recommended that I catch the disk when it was just beginning to spin and switch the power on and off rapidly - this worked. When I turned the PC on the next day, the disk was still working. Prior to my having a problem with the disk, I had not used my PC for 1 month and I was wondering if this period of inactivity might be the cause of or a contributing factor to the disk problem.
