The IBM EGA adapter, or any of its innumerable clones, give you 43 by 80 text on a regular IBM mono screen, or any of its innumerable clones. The EGA's BIOS even supports it; you need only to run a little patch program which puts the screen into the appropriate mode. The characters are small but quite legible. Such a patch program called EGA43 has been floating around on BBS systems. -- John R.
