We have seen something similar here.  We got scubed!hutton's sendsys with a
nine-hop reply path -- which is strange, since S-Cubed is only a few miles
from here, and we share the same newsfeed.  Anyway, our reply got as far as
parcvax (Xerox PARC?) and failed trying to deliver it to sri-spam (SRI).
The former is not listed in the mod.map database; the latter is listed and
says that it is on the Internet, so I suspect that parcvax was refusing to
relay UUCP mail onto the Internet.
