Wilson and Richard Lewontin. Ullica Segerstrale, "Colleagues In Conflict: An In-Vivo Analysis Of The Sociobiology Controversy", Biology + Philosophy Vol 1 No 1 1986. The philosophical agendas of both professors are laid bare (with their aid in a number of interviews.) Wilson as a scientific materialist, and Lewontin as a Marxist. My personal preference is Wilson's point of view, and I think he comes off much better than Lewontin (who essentially seems to criticize good science for its possible political abuse.) It's not steamy, but the conflict is strong and fascinating. An auspicious start for a new journal. -- Mike Huybensz ...decvax!genrad!mit-eddie!cybvax0!mrh
