(although the old timer is a sun 100u instead of a sun 2) The sun 100u constantly has problems timing out when getting files from the Sun3. Someone posted nfs / fstab configuration hints about this problem. If some one would forward these to me I would appreciate it immensely. You might suggest chucking out the sun 100u, it's 2 Mbyte memory & 71 Meg of disk, and do all our work on the sun 3 with 8 Meg & 380 Megabytes, but we have a $30,000 compiler licensed just for the old machine, and our legal department is holding up a transfer of license, cause they want to "investigate". % /bin/time ada helloworld.a 380.9 real 2.4 user 3.6 sys Oh well... tflop!mac@ames.arpa Or: -- ---------------------------------+-------------------------------------------- | Michael Mc Namara | Let the words by yours, I'm done with mine. | UUCP: dual!vecpyr!tflop!mac | May your life proceed by its own design. | ARPA: tflop!mac@ames.arpa | ---------------------------------+--------------------------------------------
