   or my receiving mailer (VMS/csnet) that's causing problems, but I'm
   receiving several copies of almost all of the messages that get
   sent to apollo@yale.

My apologies to the users on the Apollo mailing list.  The message
that was being resent from uw-beaver to our Pyramid , YALE.arpa.
We in turn dutifully forwarded everything to everyone. Its seems
that our TCP/IP's are slightly incompatible, and thus the SMTP
connection kept getting broken. 

The message is definitely dead now, thanks to Jan Sanislow (sp?) at
UW-Beaver.Arpa.
