I hope this has reached the moderator for fa.info-vax? I tried to postnews the following request to both net.decus and fa.info-vax this am. Fortunately, I was unable to post to info-vax directly and figured out/remembered/re-read that postings to info-vax go through a moderator. Thanks. -------------------------------------------------------------------- Subject: need tar read/write program for MicroVax vms 4.x Keywords: tar vax vms I saw mention of tar tape reading (and writing?) programs for VMS machines just as I began following 'news' a month or two ago but was too timid to ask at that point. Could someone e-mail me such a program, preferably in Fortran or MACRO, suitable for a VMS 4.x MicroVax (i.e., not in compatibility mode). Apparently I cannot 'anonymous ftp' anything from any machine other than sdcsvax. Also I don't have easy access to the latest DECUS offerings yet although I am a member. Thanks very much. steve piper scripps inst. of oceanography la jolla, ca 92093 gr66%sdcc12@SDCSVAX.ARPA
