	Special equipment is needed to format TU58s, and this cannot be
    done by the TU58 itself. The TU58 tape is sold pre-formatted, either
    by DEC, or one of the other cartridge vendors. There is no way it
    can be re-formatted by your VAX 11/730 or any other TU58 drive in
    the field. When the formatting is somehow damaged, it is time to
    replace the tape.
