I am looking for a hardware description system that includes a hardware description language and a simulator. An example of such a system would be the VHDL system being developed for the DoD by Intermeterics, or the ISPS system developed by Dr. Mario Barbacci at CMU. The disadvantage of both these systems for me is that they do not run under the UNIX operating system. I only have ready access to various versions of UNIX running on VAX, Sun, and AT&T systems. Does any hardware system exist in the UNIX environment? I would appreciate any information or pointers on such a system. Please mail replies and I will post a summary if there is a lot of interest.
