Auto receivers/cassette players Message-ID: <353@vu-vlsi.UUCP> Date: Sun, 24-Aug-86 17:12:40 EDT Article-I.D.: vu-vlsi.353 Posted: Sun Aug 24 17:12:40 1986 Date-Received: Thu, 28-Aug-86 08:25:02 EDT Organization: Villanova Univ. EE Dept. Lines: 20 Xref: watmath net.audio:9368 net.auto:12404 I deperately need some information (and suggestions). I'm planning on buying a audio system for my car. I expect the interior noise during normal highway driving is roughly 76dBA. The car is fairly small. Price is a minor factor ( < $700), but I'd like to spend less. Radio reception is far less important to me than cassette player integrity. I do enjoy loud music - but quality reproduction is more important. At what level to frequency response and dynamic range become meaningless in a car? How much power is useful? Are component systems the way to go? How about speakers? Thank you for your help. -Thomas Williams ---- UUCP: vu-vlsi!williams {psuvax1,pyrnj,cbmvax,drexel,excalibur}!vu-vlsi!williams
