Also, there's a new >German detergent out, handled by BMW dealers among others. You might also try MET-ALL polish. It puts a bright shine on aluminum, even weathered, clouded aluminum (I tried some of it on a storm door, though that wasn't what I got it for--the result was almost mirrorlike).
