Has anyone actually installed and used a multiport repeater (such
as the DEC DEMPR) on a thin Ethernet?  I keep hearing about how
these devices are available from DEC or BICC, but I've never heard
of one in use.  Persistent rumor has it that they "don't quite
work right". 

Does anyone have any facts?
