Here in Minnesota, we have a service where a directly connected site can have this site generate a pathalias database for you. There are a number of sites around the country that provide access to the USENET maps. Maybe they would be willing to provide this service as well. I have the software (scripts, actually), and would certainly be willing to pass it along to anyone interested. Alternately, maybe regional sites could be set up to coordinate such a service. It's not really that difficult, and the actual processor time used is pretty minimal. The biggest problem is sending the completed database over the phone, which can take a little time (even when it is compressed). If anyone is interested in attempting to set up region database distribution centers, drop me a line. I think I could at least try to coordinate the effort. -- Shane P.
