Is there a network equivalent of a phonebook or directory assistance somewhere? If not, is there reasonable way to find out that, say, seismo is actually seismo.css.gov? I have had trouble with this before. Many postings from ARPANET have pseudo-domain names. That is, they list themselves as site.ARPA rather than using a full domain name. Unfortunately, some of the gateways no longer accept names of that format. --- Sarima (Stanley Friesen) UUCP: {ttidca|ihnp4|sdcrdcf|quad1|nrcvax|bellcore|logico}!psivax!friesen ARPA: ??
