Actually, Z80MU does run under MS-DOS, and does a very fine job of it.
It is a very nice piece of work placed in the public domain.

The benchmark routine supplied as a part of Z80MU indicates that
my AT&T PC 6300 with a V30 and an 8 MHz clock
simulates a Z80 running at about 600 KHz.
