I would like to use a magnetic strip (e.g. credit card type device) reader or a bar code reader as an input device. Does anyone out there have experience with these types of devices on pc's In particuler I need to know what hardware is available, what software is available and what peoples experiences are. Reliability is important. I am also looking for a peripheral that can interface with a pc's serial or parallel port that can read magnetic strip cards (a la credit cards), has a keypad, and can display things on an led display. By way of explanation I sort of have in mind the kind of device that citibank uses for quick queries in their 24 hr bank sites. Any other suggestions for remote input would be appreciated! Thanks in advance. -- Phil Kravitz AT&T (Bell Laboratories), Murray Hill Phone: (201) 582-2703 UUCP: {allegra|ihnp4}!ulysses!psk Internet: psk@ulysses.uucp
