Lines: 17 [What? Me worry?] My_question: is there a way to do an ASSIGN without having to insert the disk being ASSIGNed to? For instance, I would like to assign dp: to deluxepaint: (my picture disk) in my startup-sequence, also arc: to whatever long pathname the latest version of arc is on, etc. I need to access these disks frequently. But I don't want to HAVE to insert them whenever the ASSIGNs are carried out (only 1 drive! argh!). Possibly under 1.2 ASSIGN? Or is there a utility program to do this (ie recognize the string without first examining the file/directory)? Thanks in advance, John Russell UUCP: {akgua,allegra,cbosgd,ihnp4,utcsri}!garfield!john13 CDNNET: john13@garfield.mun.cdn
