I have been experiencing problems with my terminal locking up on one of these VAXES. The lockup always occurs at the same place in the login procedure and happens when using the uniterm (v1.2) program or the VT52 emulator accesory. The only program that avoids this lockup is STTALK. After the serial line locks up, neither the emulator.acc nor uniterm will communicate with it any more. However, STTALK will work even after the other programs have locked the line, without hitting the reset button. The other two programs will no longer communicate with the serial line without a reset. The problem with STTALK is that it eats up the screen (I lose four lines) and it does not support KERMIT (of course neither does uniterm). Details: 1040ST(f) Avatex 1200 Color Monitor
