Message-ID: <871@drutx.UUCP> Date: Tue, 12-Aug-86 13:56:22 EDT Article-I.D.: drutx.871 Posted: Tue Aug 12 13:56:22 1986 Date-Received: Sat, 16-Aug-86 23:28:39 EDT Distribution: na Organization: AT&T Information Systems Laboratories, Denver Lines: 15 From the "Office" manager of OS Merge (OSM) on my 6300+ I have chosen to install some MS-DOS applications software from floppy disks. OSM puts me into the DOS environment, creates and suggests a directory \foo for installation, and turns me loose. When I "quit", the office manager apparently links my files in /foo to ones in /osm/lbin (also links /osm/lbin/foo.exe or .com to /osm/lbin/foo). And, it adds \foo to my MS-DOS "PATH". Question: Since "PATH" already includes \osm\lbin, why is \foo appended? Another subject: Has anyone yet installed MS WORD on the hard disk - can it be put on the combined UNIX/MS-DOS partition? scott ihnp4!drutx!dsc
