Here it sits on my desk, looking lonely and dejected. Why? Because half of my software doesn't work, or I can't get the programs I want. If I can get any of the below, I would be eternally grateful. 1) The address of LightSpeedC. I have been led to believe, perhaps wrongly, that this is a decent compiler. No dealers have ever heard of it. How much does it cost? Is there a cheaper C compiler on the market? 2) The address for obtaining SUMACC. I tried the USENET address and received no reply. Do I need a UNIX license? Do I send a magtape? 3) A program to convert MacWrite files to text files, since I do not have MacWrite. There was a half-hearted source verson posted to the net a while back(by Winkler), but it was for UNIX and I don't have a C compiler yet anyway. I tried stealing someone elses MacWrite, but no files could be "opened." So much for a life of crime. 4) I ordered a Cylan assembler from EDUCOMP and the file "mactext.s" was trashed. Does anyone have a copy they could send to me so I don't have to send the stupid disk back? 5) Is there a way, with existing software, to print a text file to a device which is just an RS-232 printer? Once I have a compiler, I can write a DA to do it (if I can figure out how!) but until then, it would be simpler than using a terminal emulation program while connecting the printer to the modem port(yuk). I would appreciate replies by mail, so as not to clutter up the net, unless something is of general interest. As usual, thanks in advance, Brian Sutin Department of Astrophysical Sciences/Princeton University { princeton, ... } !astrovax!sutin
