I use Mackermit all of the time to transfer files between several 
mainframes (Dec-20, Vax 11/780, Pyramid 90x) and it works fine. 
There are a few bugs in it, but it does the job easier than most other
packages I have come across. I think the current version is 0.8. 
I know its out on the net somewhere, but if you can't find it I
can probably mail you a copy...
