There has been a lot of discussion as of late regarding Background
Communication Programs.  I don't like to toot my own horn (but
I will! :-)), but my code RamNet is available for just that
purpose.

It does a whole bunch of stuff, including E-mail, Scripts, and
a BBS, all in the background.  Because it is a commercial
product, I won't go further here in Member-Supported-UseNet.
