  What are good names for 16, 32, and 64 bit entities in the following
hierarchy?

         bits    name
	 ----    ----
	   1     bit
	   4     nybble
	   8     byte
	  16     ?  (short word?)
	  32     ?  (long word?)
	  64     ?  

  "Short word" and "long word" are too pedestrian.  I propose naming
a 64-bit entity a 'crayte' in honor (?) of Seymour Cray.

  As usual, send me mail; don't post to the net.  I'll gather the
suggestions and post them in a few weeks.
