My problem was that we were sending annoying completion messages to our newsfeed. I got about 8 responses. Thanks to everyone for the help. In summary, the following things were suggested: 1. Set the -z flag when we fork uuxqt and batch transfers, 2. Dont set the -z flag on uuxqt and batch transfers, 3. Set the -n option on .... 4. Have our newsfeed set -z and/or -n on .... It seems not all UNIX's (UNICES?) are compatible (who would believe it!), with respect to UUCP options. Our site is running 4.2 and we are running SVr2. The solution turned out to be number 4 above. Our site needed to set the -z and the -n flags when sending us a "batch" of news. If anybody out there encounters a similar problem, try one of the above... Thanks mightily, Tim -- ...!ihnp4!{duke, akgua}!ucf-cs!tslvax!tim Tim Beres Tech-Source # subsidiary of Ciprico, Inc.
