It's been tried.  My understanding (I wasn't the one who did it) is that
it sort of works, but throughput is not what it should be.  Last I heard,
the firmware in the Trailblazer is changing almost daily, as Telebit learns
more about the problems of such modems and how best to solve them.  The
best advice is probably to wait.
