Anybody have any experience with the System V v.2+ Message Queueing facility?

I'm going to need an IPC for system V, and Message Queues looks like the
best way to go.

What is performance like (speed)?
Is there alot of overhead involved?
Any undocumented features (limitations)?
Any experience that you could share (good/bad)?
