Is this an invitation-only newsgroup, or do I have to crash it?

First of all, I want you all to know that this is the first time I
have posted to a newsgroup. (everybody groan)
OK sure, I have been a net-land observer for a while, but alas, have
managed to remain a virgin (so to speak).
Why this newsgroup, you ask?  Well, where else does there exist a
beer goddess named SAM?  Would it be inappropriate for a hetero
female to offer a sacrifice of small rodents--pancaked or otherwise--?
You've just gotta appreciate anyone who gets a thrill out of lime
green jello.  Whipped cream has always been my favorite, but now I
see how utterly bland that is.

Infinity. Nagahyde. Aardvarks. AI (on horse ranches, AI stands for
Artificial Insemination...Who still thinks that Rich Rosen is an AI
project?) Exploding mousetraps.  
I like this newsgroup.  sort of like driving in Tijuana...a
free-for-all.  swerve across two streams of thought when you see a
sign marked Ensenada.  If you forget an idea, you may end up in
Tecate.  And the whole time, you hope that you get stopped by the
Federales so you have a story to scare your parents with.
