Remember that Prometheus was horribly punished by the gods for his
transgression in bringing fire (knowledge) to man. He was staked out
on a rock and a vulture pecked out his liver every day (it regenerated).
Sometime, if you are looking for poetry of immense beauty, read Shelley's
"Prometheus Unbound", about his release from torture.
