You can decide which method of heating you want. ( At my apartment complex there is two temperatures too cold and too hot. I often have to open windows just to get a comfortable room temperature.) -Some apartments have no facilities for laundry. Sure is nice to have one's own washer and dryer. -If you leave in an apartment you probably move more often. ( In the past 4 years I've moved 3 times!) -What about the educational value of taking out a loan, fixing up the house, and so forth. -You can have a garage to put your cars in or what ever. -You can have rooms set aside for different purposes, like work shop, sewing room, large kitchen ...... -If you leaved in an apartment, would you be more likely to eat out ? Thus your savings would be diminished. -Buying a house is like having a forced savings account. How much would you really save if you were leaving in an apartment. -You can play your stereo louder. ( If that appeals to you ) -Your neighbors party upstairs will not bother you any more. It seems that unless you were a hermit, had scrooge like abilities to save or invest your money that the benefits of owning a house far out way the benefits of renting. Can anybody add any thing to these statements ? mark -- {allegra, ihnp4, seismo}!uwvax!uwmacc!edwards UW-Madison, 1210 West Dayton St., Madison WI 53706
