I'm a Bradley childbirth instructor and Yes, your Lamaze teacher told you
correctly.  They call it a birth climax.  If you want more info, read
"Natural Childbirth the Bradley Way" by Susan McCutcheon-Rosegg.  If I
remember to bring in my book tommorrow, I'll post it.
