Lines: 28 Xref: mnetor misc.invest:1 misc.taxes:1 I agree with all the reasons given for the advantages of OWNING your own house. I'm not sure (so please, I beg of you, if I'm wrong FORGIVE ME; I'm just writing this while I wait for my microcode to come out of the oven), but I don't think anyone has yet pointed out the BIGGEST advantage of owning vs. renting, and that is: --> You are not likely to get evicted from your OWN house. Yeah, yeah, I know, there's eminent domain and all that, but in that case the government usually gives you more than a month to find a new place to live. My wife and I were "evicted" from the LAST apartment my wife and will ever rent, because the owner of the unit decided he wanted a place to live, and so our lease was not renewed on 30 days notice. I don't care if it costs 10 times as much to own a house, I would rather own my own house than rent just for the added security of controlling my own "lease". Tom Gross Apollo Computer, Inc.
