Currently the archive contains the following programs: rolo 136K rolo.shar.1-5 Rolodex Program month 73K month.shar.1-2 Visual Calendar Program shar 20K shar.shar.1 Shell Archiver clock 5K clock.shar.1 Clock Program jp 19K jp.shar.1 Peterson's key defs & recognize talk 35K talk.shar.1-2 Talk Program comp 35K comp.shar.1-2 Compress Program cb 10K cb.shar.1 Checkbook Accounting sail 142K sail.shar.1-3 Sail (Based on the Avalon Hill game) hack 515K hack.shar.1-18 Hack (A Rogue-like game) pcm 52K pcm.1-2 PCM (Pacman) by Geof Cooper, IMAGEN * mandel 55K mandel.shar Mandelbrot viewing programs from John Peterson and Woody Kellum * cvtfont 24K cvtfont.shar Converts VFONT fonts to Apollo fonts (John Peterson) * macfont 20K macfont.shar Converts Macintosh fonts to VFONT (John Peterson) * new as of this notice DISTRIBUTION The main distribution is through anonymous FTP login. I will also mail to people without ARPA access. An anonymous FTP login is available on zeus.ucla.edu. The files are in the directory /pub. The files (with the exception of the compress program) are compressed. Only the most recently released software is in /pub. I will place older stuff there for you on request. We can also load a tape or diskette for you if you have no net access. The current sites on the mailing list are: Expected to do FTP peterson@utah-cs.arpa dhv@harvard.harvard.edu shull@wharton-10.arpa ezf@cc5.bbn.com david@mc.lcs.mit.edu ram@yale.arpa shulman@spca.bbn.com Poor Relations amdcad!fredel@riacs.arpa cadovax!scgvaxd!ihnp4!ihwpt!crocker apollo!nazgul@eddie.mit.edu dennis%cod@nosc.arpa sdcrdcf!psivax!scgvaxd!hacvlsi!iketani dual!bigtuna!brianm@decwrl-gw.arpa I am no longer distributing to CSNET sites because of the flakiness of that connection. I make one attempt to send to each Poor Relation. If it doesn't make it, too bad. If mail to you is consistently flaky, I stop mailing to you. If your site isn't on this list, and you'd like to receive some of the archived programs and be added to the list for future mailings, send mail to srt@locus.ucla.edu or ...!ucla-cs!srt, indicating what you'd like to receive. CONTRIBUTIONS If you'd like to contribute a program, all you have to do is mail it in any form to me. If you're on ARPAnet, I can FTP it from you if that is more convenient. I'm actively seeking new contributions, and hope that you'll have something interesting. If you'd like to contribute money, we can make special arrangements. For instance, I'd be willing to drive over to your house if it isn't too far. I also cut lawns. -- Scott Turner
