I am trying to get a MicroVAX (VMS V4.2) to communicate with an 11/780 (VMS V4.2) by this method with no success. I've followed the instructions in "Guide to Networking on VAX/VMS", pages 5-14 thru 5-16 and 5-25 thru 5-27, but get a "device timeout" error after I enter the "SET TERMINAL/PROTOCOL=DDCMP /SWITCH=DECNET" command.
