The Automatic Login Facility is documented in both the Guide to Systems
Management and Daily Operations, and the Security Guide.

We have used ALF for both dedicated terminal applications (terminal at
security desk), and for more unusual applications, like a Schlage 
Electronic Access Control system, which logs into a VAX when a door opens
and enters the "access record" (who came into the computer room) into 
OPCOM and thus logs "physical" security information with "data" security
information.
