Message-ID: <443@sask.UUCP> Date: Sun, 21-Sep-86 19:14:59 EDT Article-I.D.: sask.443 Posted: Sun Sep 21 19:14:59 1986 Date-Received: Sun, 28-Sep-86 21:58:49 EDT Distribution: net Organization: University of Saskatchewan, CANADA Lines: 18 (I mean the ones that fly on strings in the wind, not the birds...) I am getting involved in kite flying, both as recreation and as a technical research area (informally - I'm not an aeronautics engineer, though I try to keep up). I don't expect enough interest to support a "{tech|soc|talk}.kites", but a mailing list might work out. I would like to see anything from discussion of construction techniques to announcements of kite festivals, though purely local stuff like "I fly at the corner of X ave. and Y st." won't be much use to the rest of the net. (actually, that last point should be a general rule, for all of you who post net.party announcements - it's three hard days driving from here to New Jersey, so I'm probably not going to show up even if I am invited) - irving - {ihnp4|utcsri|alberta}!sask!reid BITNET:reid@sask *MIGHT* work, but don't count on it... With a strong enough wind, and a long enough tail, you can fly anything...
