Walton) Distribution: net Organization: Whole Earth Lectronic Link, Sausalito CA Lines: 15 My company is in somewhat desperate need of a cross compiler for FORTRAN which runs under UNIX 4.3BSD and its close relatives on Vaxes and MicroVaxes, and which produces code for the Intel 8086/8087 family. In-line floating point is essential, as is large arrays and COMMON's (greater than 64K). Cross-calling for a C compiler (Lattice or Microsoft or Aztec) would be very nice, but not essential. Is anyone aware of such a beast? We have been quoted costs of several hundred thousand dollars for a contract to produce one by a couple of the better-known companies selling native-mode MSDOS cross compilers. Please reply directly to me, and I will summarize if response warrants. Thanks! Stephen Walton, AMETEK Computer Research Div. ametek!walton@csvax.caltech.edu ...!well!swalton walton@caltech.bitnet
