This was very interesting; however, I don't think it belongs in either
net.mail or net.news (and certainly not in both!).  I would like to propose
that mod.mag.fido be created.  Followups to this suggestion should go only
to net.news.group.  If there is enough interest, would someone volunteer to
collect votes?
