Normal autowrap is to type all characters after the 80th on the same position? That's what I call having autowrap off. What I consider autowrap is when everything beyond the 80th character gets printed on the next line and everything beyond the 160th character on the line after that and so on. Weckers VT100 does what you describe, i.e. the cursor remains on the 80th column until the next newline. Am I missunderstanding your article? In any case I would like an option and a way to have autowrap. I don't want to loose anything just because my screen can only handle 80 columns.
