I need help wiring a standard RGB monitor to my ST. When all the info passed thru the net regarding RGB problems, I was still waiting for my ST. I now have it, and have consructed a little box with a switch on it to select mono or colour. As I should have guessed from the flurry of comments 9 months ago about RGB, I should have anticipated a few more problems. Basically everything works well, my little box turns the mono on/off and provides composite video and audio. The problem: the RGB output levels are analog 1 volt p-p. It seems that standard RGB monitors (mine included) require ttl level signals. My attempted solution: I have tried breadboarding up an op-amp circuit to convert the voltage levels to 0-5volts. I am now able to get blurry images on the RGB monitor. My request: - any circuit that will solve the problem. - a definition of what exactly is 'TTL level' inputs for an RGB monitor (obviously the brightness is in analog form, which is not TTL (= ON/OFF) ). - any other comments or ideas. I am kind of enjoying solving the problem but it is a little awkward when I don't really know what my goal is, other than a good picture.
