Message-ID: <571@abstl.UUCP> Date: Thu, 25-Sep-86 18:23:43 EDT Article-I.D.: abstl.571 Posted: Thu Sep 25 18:23:43 1986 Date-Received: Tue, 30-Sep-86 07:44:14 EDT Reply-To: msk@abstl.UUCP (Morrie Kahn) Distribution: na Organization: Anheuser-Busch Co., St. Louis Lines: 20 Keywords: hayes, 3b2, known problems Xref: watmath net.micro.att:1545 net.wanted:9693 I seem to recall a discussion some time ago about problems encountered when using a Hayes modem with a 3b2 computer. Is that right, or am I confused? Well, I am having a problem with a Hayes modem/3b2 combination. It appears that I can either have the modem answer incoming calls or have the computer initiate outbound calls, but not both. Can anyone tell me if there is an appropriate set of switch settings for the Hayes that will allow both incoming and outgoing calls to be handled? Is there anything besides changing switch settings that can be done to fix the problem? What about making a new cable with some pins strapped? Also, would someone be kind enough to mail me a summary of the problems that were discussed concerning Hayes modems used with 3b2 computers - and their resolution? THANKS IN ADVANCE, Morrie Kahn ...!ihnp4!we53!abstl!msk
