It uses Richard Conn's ZCPR3 for the command processor and Dennis Wright's ZRDOS disk operating system (replaces the BDOS). This is the state-of-the-art operating system for Z80 (and NS800 and HD64180 and even 8080 or 8085) computers. If you are not using it, you should definitely look into it.
