Message-ID: <4125@ut-ngp.UUCP> Date: Sun, 12-Oct-86 18:14:44 EDT Article-I.D.: ut-ngp.4125 Posted: Sun Oct 12 18:14:44 1986 Date-Received: Tue, 14-Oct-86 04:51:35 EDT Organization: UTexas Computation Center, Austin, Texas Lines: 36 here are the particulars: Mac+, F-5.3/S-3.2, 2Meg, DataFrame-20, LoDown-60Meg tape; software: LoDown-1.4V when I fire up the back-up program from the DF, I ran, repeatedly, into the following problem: the program runs for quite a while, backing up the disk to tape, when: Error Writing one file -> not backed up Error ID: -4 System Error: -36 [an I/O error, I believe] in dobackup [a routine in the LoDown software, I suspect] a nice OK-button is provided, which when you click it, turns into a BOMB ID=25 [memory full, unless I am mistaken] when I run the back-up program from a floppy, it works just fine. Has anyone seen similar? any thoughts? Cheers, ---Werner PS: the "technical" rep I talked to at LoDown blamed the DataFrame .... she was otherwise "pretty dense" .... I can't recommend that anyone waste their time calling them. Of course, their software identifies the authors as 2 other companies, one is Chrystal Canyon (LoDown-1.4V) the other is Fractal Software. now to find a phone number for them .... PSPS: I saw that AST-2000 problem report in the Delphi-digest 2.51 which sounds similar. as a matter of fact, that's what reminded me that I meant to post this message.
