I am writing a DBASEIII application, one its function is to format a floppy diskette. Using the 'dir' command on a blank diskette yeilds the error message "abort, retry or ignore" which is confusing to a new user and could be very damaging. I would like to avoid getting this message however, at the same time having some reliable way to detect the blank/non-blank status. Thanks.. D.
