DOS I/O quits after 33 MB Message-ID: <142@druxv.UUCP> Date: Thu, 9-Oct-86 19:09:54 EDT Article-I.D.: druxv.142 Posted: Thu Oct 9 19:09:54 1986 Date-Received: Fri, 10-Oct-86 08:20:44 EDT Organization: AT&T Information Systems Labs, Denver, Co Lines: 18 I have run into what appears to be a DOS 2.x bug (MS DOS 2.11, PC DOS 2.10), and I'm wondering if anyone else has seen this or knows of more details. Especially if you have implemented a networking node, I imagine you have run into this.... We have an installable character device driver. After we have read from or written to it for approximately 33 MB, it appears that DOS closes the file handle to the driver. IOCTL's to the device continue to operate correctly, but read's & write's fail until the driver has been re-opened. We have never seen similar behavior on MS DOS 3.10. Please respond by email.
