It was GREAT!!!  Even the 1912 vintage old Lackawana MU coaches were slick.
The steam excursion from Hoboken to Dover today on the
Blue Mountain & Reading 425.

And for anyone who missed it, or couldn't go, NJ Transit will be running
another steam excursion next year, as it was so popular.  One of the BM &R
operating crew leaked that they will be running the BM & R 2102 4-8-4 sometime
after next Spring (after March).  Apparently the 425 4-6-2 had some trouble
on the 3 degree grades on the Boonton line and even had to make an uncheduled
stop for a lub job because of excessive rod knock, so they decided to use their
4-8-4 next time and that was met with much excitement at the prospect.
Let's hope it comes off without a hitch.
