Texas, Astronomy, Austin, TX Lines: 32 I am new to using LaTeX. I have been using Scribe for years and am trying to convert something from Scribe to LaTeX format. The document is a curriculum vita and was done with the verbatim environment in Scribe. Included in the text is some boldfacing. Scribe will interpret commands in a verbatim environment so this is pretty simple to do. However, LaTeX in verbatim mode is incapable of parsing LaTeX commands (some might argue that is what verbatim means) so I don't know how to go about doing what I want. The Scribe document looks basically as follows: @begin[verbatim] @b[Born]: date place @b[Education] B.A. .... M.A. .... Ph.D. .... @b[Professional Societies] List of them follows etc. @end[verbatim] What I need is a LaTeX command which says don't change the way in which I have formatted this but do listen to things such as font changes. Can this be done? How do I do it? Please e-mail me the answer. Thanks in advance. -- Anita Cochran uucp: {noao, ut-sally, ut-ngp}!utastro!anita arpa: anita@astro.as.utexas.edu snail: Astronomy Dept., The Univ. of Texas, Austin, TX, 78712 at&t: (512) 471-1471
