I have a little problem here with AmSTeX. My .tex file looks like the following \topmatter \title blah \endtitle \author blah \endauthor \affil blah \\ blah \\ blah \endaffil \date{March, 1999} \endtopmatter \newpage \document \baselineskip=24pt % for doublespacing \heading Introduction \endheading Text, more text, more text, etc. \enddocument Well, the text in the Introduction got beautifully doublespaced, which was what I wanted. However, the multiple lines in my affiliation *also* got doublespaced, which was 1) not what I wanted 2) quite a surprise Any thoughts on why this happened? What's the cure? Thanks.
