I don't know if the 10 MIPs chips are being produced in quantity yet. The architecture seems interesting and usable, from the little I know about it. A number of UNIX vendors are known to be working with these chips; expect the cheaper-and-faster trend to continue. I don't know anything about using MIPs chips on/with SUNs. -Mike
